Nifty ends May F&O at 8319; ITC, Infosys, Hero gainers

The Nifty ended May F&O series at 8319, down 15.60 points or 0.19 percent. The Sensex was down 57.95 points or 0.21 percent at 27506.71.

Tata Motors, Vedanta, Hero, Infosys and ITC were top gainers while Tata Power, Cipla, M&M, Bharti Airtel and Sun Pharma were major laggards in the Sensex.

Stock Market Morning News Update— ONGC, Tech Mah gainers

Nifty opens higher on expiry day; ONGC, Tech Mah gainers

The market started off expiry day on a positive note. The Sensex gained 96.48 points at 27661.14 and the Nifty rose 25.60 points to 8360.20. About 537 shares have advanced, 211 shares declined, and 63 shares are unchanged on the BSE.

Tata Motors, ONGC, Infosys, Bharti Airtel, HDFC, Tech Mahindra and BPCL gained 0.7-1.7 percent while GAIL, M&M, Dr Reddys Labs, SBI, Hindalco, HCL Tech and PNB lost 0.4-2 percent. 

The Indian rupee has opened at Rs 63.93 a dollar today, up 8 paise over previous day's close. In the previous session, the currency closed at 64.01 a dollar, the lowest closing level since May 12.

Sensex, Nifty end flat ahead of F&O expiry; BHEL up 4%

A day ahead of May F&O expiry, the market has ended on flat note. The Sensex was up 33.25 points at 27564.66 and the Nifty ended down 4.75 points at 8334.60. About 1151 shares advanced, 1460 shares declined, and 180 shares were unchanged. BHEL closed up 4 percent, followed by ONGC, Coal India, Bharti Airtel and Axis Bank. Tata Motors fell 5 percent while M&M, Sun Pharma, GAIL and Infosys were other losers.

Sensex falls 150 pts, Nifty below 8300; Tata Motors dips 6%

The market has opened on a weak note dragged by poor March quarter corporate earnings of key companies. The Sensex is down 138.45 points or 0.5 percent at 27392.96, and the Nifty is down 53.05 points or 0.6 percent at 8286.30. About 195 shares have advanced, 448 shares declined, and 70 shares are unchanged. Tata Motors tanks 6 percent while Dr Reddy's Labs, Wipro, M&M and Vedanta are major laggrds. BHEL is up 1 percent.Sun Pharma, Bharti Airtel, ITC and ONGC are top gainers in the Sensex. 

The Indian rupee has breached 64 level in opening trade, down 7 paise to 64.05 a dollar from 63.98 percent in previous session.

Sensex ends 112 pts down, Nifty below 8350; BHEL jumps 5%
The market ended at lower levels. The Sensex was down 112.47 points or 0.4 percent at 27531.41 and the Nifty was down 30.90 points or 0.4 percent at 8339.35. About 1176 shares have advanced, 1482 shares declined, and 175 shares are unchanged. 

 After beating estimates by its March quarter results, BHEL ended with 5 percent gains. Coal India, Hero MotoCorp, Maruti and Bajaj Auto are top gainers in the Sensex. Among the losers are ONGC, Vedanta, Tata Motors, NTPC and Reliance.
