Stock Market Opening News & Trading Tips



Sensex up over 300 pts, Nifty reclaims 8200; banks support

The Sensex is at 27,189.31 up 322 points or 1.1 percent  while the Nifty is up 94.20 points or 1.1 percent at 8221.15. GAIL, Hero Motocorp, ICICI Bank, HDFC and M&M are top gainers in the Sensex. Among the losers are Hindalco, Vedanta and NTPC.
About 313 shares have advanced, 63 shares declined, and 71 shares are unchanged. Axis Bank, BHEL, Wipro, ICICI Bank and Tata Steel are top gainers in the Sensex. Hindalco falls 2 percent. The Indian rupee opened flat at 64.17 per dollar against previous day close of  64.17. The dollar index dipped below 95 marks.

Indian Stock Market Closing Bell



After a volatile session, the market has ended in negative terrain. The Sensex ended down 50.45 points at 27440.14 and the Nifty was down 11.25 points at 8320.70. Metal stocks jumped with top gainers like Vedanta and Tata Steel. ONGC, Hindalco and HUL were other gainers in the Sensex. Among the losers were M&M, Bajaj Auto, HDFC, SBI and Coal India.

Stock Market Closing Bell



The market ended a volatile session on a weak note. The Sensex was down 170.45 points or 0.6 percent at 27225.93, and the Nifty slipped 45.85 points or 0.5 percent at 8239.75. About 1526 shares  advanced, 1186 shares declined and 157 shares were unchanged. Bharti Airtel fell 4 percent while ITC, HDFC, Vedanta and Reliance were major laggards in the Sensex.
Axis Bank gained 5 percent. Among the top gainers were Wipro, GAIL, Sun Pharma and ICICI Bank.

Stock Market Close Sensex down



Sensex tanks over 300 pts, Nifty below 8300 post Infosys Q4
 
The market has slipped further after Infosys announced lower-than-expected March quarter results. The Sensex is down 310.70 points or 1 percent at 27424.32 and the Nifty is down 102.65 points or 1 percent at 8295.65. 
 About 657 shares have advanced, 2014 shares declined, and 146 shares are unchanged.
Infosys is down over 5 percent while Cipla, Vedanta, HDFC and Hindalco are top losers. ITC is still down 2 percent, followed by ONGC, Maruti, Tata Motors and Bajaj Auto.

Stock Market Closing Bell



Sensex crashes 556 pts, Nifty slips 1.8%; Reliance falls 4%

The Sensex is down 555.89 points or 1.9 percent at 27886.21 and the Nifty is down 157.90 points or 1.8 percent at 8448.10. About 897 shares have advanced, 1951 shares declined, and 155 shares are unchanged.
Reliance lost 5 percent and Hero Motocorp fell 4 percent. Other laggards were HDFC; Cipla and M&M. Top gainers are ICICI Bank and Sun Pharma.
