Most Asian stock markets fell on
Tuesday as the deepening conflict in Iraq and a gas dispute between Ukraine and
Russia sapped investors' appetite for riskier assets.
Key benchmark indices alternately swung between positive and
negative zone within a narrow range in early afternoon trade. Tyre stocks were
in demand on renewed buying, with shares of Balkrishna Industries scaling
record high. Sugar stocks rose on fresh buying.
The S&P BSE Sensex, was down 12.38 points or 0.05%, off
73.69 points from the day's high and up 38.87 points from the day's low.
The
market breadth indicating the overall health of the market was positive.
