Stock Market Close with Selling Pressure



Sensex ends 224 pts down; banks, IT, pharma drag; metals up



The market closed lower for the third consecutive session on Friday due to selling pressure in technology, banks, healthcare and auto stocks. The Sensex fell 223.94 points to 28442.10 and the Nifty lost 100.70 points to 8606.
About 1184 shares have advanced, 1636 shares declined, and 178 shares are unchanged on the BSE.
TCS, Sun Pharma, Axis Bank, Bharti Airtel and Wipro topped the selling list on Sensex, down 3-5 percent while Sesa Sterlite, Tata Steel, NTPC, Hindalco and BHEL gained 1-3 percent.

Stock Market Closing News—Sensex up 299 pts, Nifty at 8723



Consolidating for second consecutive day, the market ended with some robust gains ahead of Fed meet. The Sensex ended up 298.67 points or 1 percent at 28736.38 and the Nifty was up 90.15 points or 1 percent at 8723.30. About 1355 shares have advanced, 1461 shares declined, and 197 shares are unchanged.

Hindalco surged 5 percent while Sesa Sterlite and Dr Reddy's Labs gained up 3-4 percent. Axis Bank and BHEL were other top gainers in the Sensex. Among the losers were Infosys, Bharti Airtel, Wipro, Coal Indi and HUL.

Today’s Accurate Stock Trading Tips with Market Trends



Sensex, Nifty firm; Hindalco up 3%, Reliance & ITC drag

The market has opened the most crucial Budget week on a firm note. The Sensex is up 65.28 points at 29296.69 and the Nifty is up 23.25 points at 8856.85. About 500 shares have advanced, 126 shares declined, and 119 shares are unchanged.

 Hindalco, Tata Power, BHEL, Infosys and Tata Steel are top gainers in the Sensex. Among the losers are Reliance, ITC, Bajaj Auto and Dr Reddy's Labs.
The Indian rupee opened flat at 62.20 per dollar versus 62.22 Friday.
The euro held steady, rising initially in relief following a conditional loan extension deal for Greece, but losing steam as caution towards the debt saga persisted.
