Today in Indian Stock Market the 30-share barometer index of Bombay Stock Exchange, Sensex was at 25660.61, up by 57.51 points or 0.22 per cent while the NSE Nifty was at 7857.85, up by 10.6 points or 0.14 per cent. Meanwhile, investors remained cautious ahead of Jan-Mar 2015-16 quarter corporate earnings of ICICI Bank, Marico and IDFC to be unveiled today.

The top gainers of the BSE Sensex pack were Lupin Ltd. (Rs. 1609.00,+2.02%), Cipla Ltd. (Rs. 536.25,+1.75%), Oil And Natural Gas Corporation Ltd. (Rs. 220.00,+1.41%), Axis Bank Ltd. (Rs. 474.50,+1.33%), Coal India Ltd. (Rs. 288.85,+1.16%), among others.

Major show spoilers were Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. (Rs. 1327.45,-1.18%), Asian Paints Ltd. (Rs. 867.60,-0.74%), Bharti Airtel Ltd. (Rs. 370.70,-0.43%), Reliance Industries Ltd. (Rs. 993.65,-0.37%), GAIL (India) Ltd. (Rs. 362.60,-0.32%), among others.

There seems to be no end to selling in Indian Stock market. The Nifty is now below 7400, first time since June 2014. The 50-share index is down 45.50 points or 0.6 percent at 7392.30. The Sensex is down 145.36 points or 0.6 percent at 24309.68.About 199 shares has advanced, 1851 shares declined, and 63 shares are unchanged. Nifty Bank is also below 15000 for first time since 2014.
Nifty Midcap is at 52-week low. Bajaj Auto, Bharti Airtel, Cipla, ONGC and Hindalco are among major laggards. GAIL, Infosys, NTPC, TCS and ITC are gainers in the Sensex. Oil prices hit their lowest since 2003 in early trading, as the market braced for a jump in Iranian exports after the lifting of sanctions against the country at the weekend.
Indian Oil Corporation’s latest refinery here, the first in over a decade for the nation's largest fuel major, started production of petrol from the Rs 34,555-crore facility. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will dedicate the 15 MMTPA Paradip Refinery, which will primarily be producing BS-IV fuels and serving the eastern and southeastern markets apart from exports, to the nation on February 7.

Cipla, GAIL, Dr Reddy's Labs, ICICI Bank and Coal India rallied 1.2-1.6 percent. However, Kotak Mahindra Bank fell 3 percent post Q1 earnings. ITC, Maruti Suzuki, L&T, PNB, Bank of Baroda and Power Grid Corp declined.

Nifty hits 8450, Sensex up 150pts; Kotak Mah down, ICICI up
The positive momentum continued in early trade Friday with the Sensex rising 168.05 points or 0.61 percent to 27873.40 and the Nifty gaining 39.65 points or 0.47 percent to 8461.45. About 746 shares have advanced, 175 shares declined, and 74 shares are unchanged on the BSE.
Cipla, GAIL, Dr Reddy's Labs, ICICI Bank and Coal India rallied 1.2-1.6 percent. However, Kotak Mahindra Bank fell 3 percent post Q1 earnings. ITC, Maruti Suzuki, L&T, PNB, Bank of Baroda and Power Grid Corp declined.

In important earnings, Larsen and Turbo (L&T) will report its Q1 numbers today. The earnings  could disappoint on a high base. Its consolidated profit is expected to decline 14 percent with a reputed revenue growth
Banking heavyweight, ICICI Bank too will report numbers today. According to a CNBC-TV18 poll, the Net Interest Income (NII) is expected to rise 15 percent while profits may see 10 percent growth. The provisions are expected to remain elevated. 

The Indian rupee slipped in the early trade. It has opened lower by 6 paise at 64.10 per dollar against previous close of 64.04.

Nifty below 8500, Sensex falls over 150pts; P-Notes worry

The market has opened on lower note as traders seem to be cautious of the Participatory Notes (P-Notes) issue. The Sensex is down 161.11 points or 0.6 percent at 27951.20 and the Nifty is down 49.45 points or 0.6 percent at 8472.10. About 469 shares have advanced, 442 shares declined, and 91 shares are unchanged.

Concerned over flow of black money into stock market, the Supreme Court-appointed SIT has asked regulator Sebi to compulsorily identify real owners of foreign funds coming through the controversial
 P-Note route and also prosecute those using equities for tax evasion. P-Notes are typically Offshore Derivative Instruments issued abroad by Foreign Institutional Investors (FIIs) or their associates against the underlying Indian securities.
ICICI Bank, Tata Motors, L&T, Tata Steel and GAIL are among major losers while Lupin, HUL, Cipla, NTPC and Dr Reddy's Labs are major gainers in the Sensex.
The Indian rupee opened with marginal loss of 3 paise at 64.07 per dollar against previous close of 64.04. On Friday, rupee ended at lowest closing level since June 17.

Sensex weak, Nifty below 8600; ACC, UltraTech, HDFC drag
The market has opened marginally higher in early trade Monday led by private banks, auto and pharma stocks. However, it immediately erased gains to trade with losses. The Sensex declined 83.37 points to 28379.94 and the Nifty fell 34.40 points to 8575.45. About 495 shares have advanced, 159 shares declined, and 75 shares are unchanged on the BSE. Cipla, Hero Motocorp, Bajaj Auto, HDFC Bank, BPCL, NMDC and Idea Cellular gained 0.5-1 percent while ACC, UltraTechCement, Tata Power, Ambuja Cements and HDFC lost 1-3 percent. Analysts suggest that in the near term, equities will take cues from the ongoing earnings season as well as the monsoon Parliament, which opens tomorrow.
