Stock Market update:-
The Indian stock market has
opened on a firm note this morning, with investors making some purchases in
opening trades, after the government said it will not impose minimum alternate
tax on foreign portfolio investors retrospectively.
The Sensex is up 111 points or
0.43% at 25,807.44, after racing to 25,939.37 at the start.
The Nifty, which rose to
7862.55, is currently up 28.05 points or 0.36% at 7813.90.
After sharp cuts yesterday,
the market has opened higher. The Sensex is up 148.78 points or 0.6 percent at
25845.22 and the Nifty is up 44.20 points or 0.6 percent at 7830.05. About 570
shares have advanced, 135 shares declined, and 34 shares are unchanged. Lupin,
Axis Bank, ICICI Bank, Sun Pharma and Hindalco are top gainers in the
Sensex.Among the losers are Hero, ONGC, Bajaj Auto, NTPC and Tata Motors.

- Nifty and Sensex down by 2.33% and 2.23%.
- Asia Pacific traded negatively Nikkei225 and Kospi down by 3.99% and 1.42%.
- Dow Jones fut. down 332.50 pts.
- EUR unemployement rate stood at 10.90%.
Indian indices were dragged
again supported by banknifty and closed on negative note. On sectorial front
PSU Bank, Realty and Media were down while an IndiaVIX was up by 16.76%. Sensex
was down by 586 points at 25696 & Nifty went down by 185 points to settle
at 7785 level. European markets trade in down trend.
Indian Rupee Update
The Indian rupee declined in
early trade on Wednesday. It has opened lower by 10 paise at 66.32 per
dollar against 66.22 a dollar on Tuesday.

between Rs 65.95-66.60/USD
