Live Stock Market News – Nifty ends marginally higher



The market closed with marginal gains on Thursday, the expiry day for November series derivative contracts. The 50-share NSE Nifty ended tad below the 8500-mark, up 18.45 points at 8494.20 while the Sensex rose 52.72 points to 28438.91.
The broader markets outperformed benchmarks throughout the session. The BSE Midcap and Smallcap indices gained 0.5 percent each. About 1585 shares advanced while 1364 shares declined on the Bombay Stock Exchange.  
BHEL topped the buying list, up 5.73 percent followed by HUL, Tata Power, Cipla, Hindalco Industries, Punjab National Bank and HCL Technologies with 1.8-3 percent gain.
However, Bharti Airtel, Tata Steel, Sesa Sterlite, Larsen & Toubro, ONGC, DLF, Ambuja Cements and Grasim Industries fell 0.7-2.6 percent.

Stock Market Open Flat Today
Equity benchmarks opened flat on Thursday, the expiry day for November series derivative contracts. The Sensex fell 13.62 points to 28372.57 and the Nifty declined 3.55 points to 8472.20.
About 491 shares have advanced, 215 shares declined, and 24 shares are unchanged on the Bombay Stock Exchange.
 Tata Power, NTPC, Sun Pharma, Gail India, M&M, Asian Paints, BPCL and ACC gained 0.6-1 percent while ITC, ONGC, Tata Motors, Bharti Airtel, Dr Reddy's Labs and DLF lost 0.7-1.7 percent.
The Indian rupee opened marginally higher at 61.80 per dollar today compared to 61.84 a dollar on Wednesday.

Stock recommendation for 27/11/2014 is M&M ltd. In today’s trading session it was up by 1.28%. Its long term trend is up.
All the indicators are suggesting that one can go for long position in this stock above 1280 level. The stock may test level of 1310-1350 in coming days.

Stock Trading Tips with Ending Session Updates



BSE Sensex and Nifty gained some momentum in afternoon trade after struggling in most part of the session.
BSE Sensex was up 85 points to 28,422 while Nifty rose 21 points to 8,485. However gains were capped as investors remained cautious ahead of the expiry of November equity derivatives on Thursday. Also, the September-quarter GDP data is due on Friday.
The midcap and smallcap stocks today rebounded after suffering a selloff in the previous session. The BSE midcap and smallcap indices were up nearly 1 per cent.

Benchmark indices opened weak Wednesday, with the Sensex down around 40 points to 28298 and the Nifty down 18 points to 8845. Brokers said investors were wary of buying at current levels because of expensive valuations. Also, the latest round of Sebi restrictions on participatory note investments could hurt FII inflows near term, they said.
 ITC   shares were up around 2 percent to Rs 362 even as the government has accepted the recommendation of an expert panel to ban sale of loose cigarettes, and has moved a Cabinet note to tweak the anti-tobacco law.

Stock Market Closing Report – Sensex ends 160 points lower



After starting flat and losing about 1 percent in late afternoon trading, Indian equities staged a smart recovery to recover about half the losses towards the end.
At close, the Sensex was down 161 points, or 0.57 percent, to 28,338 while the Nifty ended at 8,463, down 67 points, or 0.79 percent.
The sharp swing saw plenty of stocks being sent into a tizzy. Mid-cap stocks such as Man Infra (recovered 21 percent from day’s low), Monnet Industries (climbed 18 percent intraday) and Digjam (recovered 17 percent) saw wild swings.
 BHEL, HUL and Cipla were the top Sensex gainers with a rise between 1.5 percent and 3.1 percent while ITC, Tata Steel and NTPC were the worst decliners, off 2.2 percent to 4.6 percent.
