Live Stock Market News Alert –Sensex, Nifty flat;



The market has opened tepid following global cues. The Sensex is up 10.05 points at 28513.35 and the Nifty is down 1.85 points at 8645.90. About 478 shares have advanced, 224 shares declined, and 110 shares are unchanged.
Tata Power, Tata Motors, HDFC Bank, ITC and Dr Reddy's Labs are top gainers in the Sensex. Among the losers are Hindalco, NTPC, GAIL, Sesa Sterlite and Bharti Airtel.
In the US, Wall Street closed lower on Friday, as a week of mixed economic data, renewed dollar strength and sharply lower oil prices made traders cautious ahead of this week's fed meeting.
 In Europe, equities closed slightly mixed on Friday, as the oil and gas sector took another hit from tumbling prices.

Sensex bleeds 427pts, Nifty ends at 8648



After just a day of gain, the market lost sharply today. The Sensex ended down 427.11 points or 1.5 percent at 28503.30. The Nifty also was down 128.25 points or 1.5 percent at 8647.75.  About 925 shares have advanced, 1949 shares declined, and 176 shares were unchanged.
 L&T, BHEL, Bajaj Auto, Axis Bank and Hindalco were among losers in the Sensex. Gainers were ONGC, Bharti Airtel and NTPC.

Stock Market Closing With Record High



The Nifty was up 39.50 points at 8996.25 while the Sensex gained 134.59 points at 29593.73. About 1667 shares advanced, 1188 shares declined and 221 shares were unchanged. TCS, Reliance were top contributors to Nifty gain today. Cipla, Bajaj Auto and HDFC were other gainers in the Sensex. Losers include Coal India, M&M, Axis Bnak, Tata Motors and NTPC.

 Coal India falls 5%, Sun Pharma up 2%
The market has opened flat. The Sensex is down 34.04 points at 29425.10 and the Nifty is down 17.55 points at 8939.20. About 492 shares have advanced, 215 shares declined, and 100 shares are unchanged.
 Sun Pharma, HDFC, TCS, Reliance and Cipla are top gainers in the Sensex. Coal India tanks 5 percent, while M&M, Tata Motors, Axis Bank and ITC are laggards.
The Indian rupee opened flat at 61.89 per dollar versus 61.87 Monday.
The dollar edges higher against a basket of major currencies, touching an 11-year high despite soft economic data. Euro slips to 1.11 levels.

Sensex ends 261 points down; Nifty below 8700



The Nifty ended below psychological 8,700-mark on the last day of February series expiry as traders booked profits ahead of the annual Budget.
Shares of railways related companies closed on a weak note as the Rail Budget presented by Minister Suresh Prabhu failed to boost sentiments.
The government's move to hike freight rates on bulk commodities, at a time when commodities prices are lower, also hurt the markets.
The 50-share index ended at 8,683.85, down 83.40 points or 0.95 per cent. It touched a high of 8,786.05 and a low of 8,669.85 in trade today.
The S&P BSE Sensex was at 28,746.65, down 261.34 points or 0.90 per cent. It touched a high of 29,069.13 and a low of 28,693.82 in trade today.
