Stock Market News & Tips Live — Nifty reclaims 8700, Sensex firm;



The market extended upmove in opening trade today with the Nifty reclaiming 8700 level led by FMCG, IT and banks stocks. The Sensex rallied 122.87 points to 28639.46 and the Nifty climbed 38.65 points to 8698.95.
About 429 shares have advanced, 73 shares declined, and 92 shares are unchanged on the BSE.   Shares of Coal India, Tata Motors, Infosys, Tata Power, NTPC, HDFC Bank, ICICI Bank and Sun Pharma topped the buying list on Sensex. However, Bharti Airtel declined.
The cabinet has cleared the decks to create a regulator for realty sector. The watchdog will address consumer grievances within 60 days. Penal provisions will be initiated against realtors who violate the rules.
 Reserve Bank of India Governor Raghuram Rajan kept key policy rates unchanged yesterday and asked bankers to pass on previous rate cuts. Banks obliged with the ICICI Bank cutting rates by 25 basis points. SBI and HDFC Bank also eased rates by 15 basis points each.
Glenmark Pharma gained 3.5 percent on approval from CCEA to hike FII limit in company. 
The Indian rupee opened lower by 7 paise at 62.32 per dollar today against previous day's closing value of 62.25.

Stock Market Closing News Live — Sensex, Nifty close higher post RBI policy



The market recouped all its losses in late trade supported by metals, FMCG and select oil stocks. The Sensex rose 12.13 points to 28516.59 and the Nifty climbed 15.15 points to 8675.05.
 The broader markets continued its outperformance. The BSE Midcap Index gained 0.7 percent and Smallcap rallied 1.2 percent. About 1657 shares have advanced, 1096 shares declined, and 171 shares are unchanged on the BSE.

Stock Market Trading Tips & News Live — Sensex, Nifty open higher; HDFC leads



The market gained further in early trade ahead of RBI policy. The Sensex rose 81.51 points to 28585.97 and the Nifty advanced 16.70 points to 8676.60. About 594 shares have advanced, 135 shares declined, and 88 shares are unchanged on the BSE.
Sun Pharma, Reliance Industries, HDFC, Tata Power, ONGC, Cipla, Cairn India, NMDC and Tech Mahindra gained 0.6-1 percent while BHEL, Dr Reddy's Labs, HDFC Bank, BPCL, Power Grid Corp, GAIL and Idea Cellular declined.
The Indian rupee opened marginally lower at 62.22 per dollar on Tuesday versus 62.18 Monday.

Stock Market Closing News Live Updates— Nifty ends above 8650



The market saw major buying interest in last couple of hours of trade today. The Sensex rallied 244.32 points or 0.86 percent to 28504.46 and the Nifty climbed 73.65 points or 0.86 percent to 8659.90.
The broader markets outperformed benchmarks with the BSE Midcap and Smallcap indices surging more than 1 percent. About 1818 shares have advanced, 917 shares declined, and 169 shares are unchanged on the BSE.
Pharma, realty, FMCG and capital goods stocks led the rally while private banking & financials trimmed losses.

Stock Market Opening News Live Updates— Nifty reclaims 8600, Sensex firm;



After a long weekend, the market opened on a positive note on Monday. The Sensex rose 101.77 points to 28361.91 and the Nifty advanced 29.55 points to 8615.80. About 519 shares have advanced, 118 shares declined, and 93 shares are unchanged on the BSE.  
 Sun Pharma climbed 2 percent as it settled litigation for generic Angiomax with The Medicines Company, US. Tata Motors also rallied 2 percent as the stock went ex-rights today.
ONGC, Dr Reddy's Labs, Cipla and NTPC were other prominent gainers, up over 1 percent whereas banking & financials and technology stocks were under pressure on profit booking. The Indian rupee gained by 40 paise in the early trade on Monday. It has opened at 62.10 per dollar against 62.50 Tuesday.
