Stock Tips Alert: Metal & Mining Stocks Rose

Metal and mining stocks rose on good Chinese economic data.
Key benchmark indices strengthened in afternoon trade as European stocks edged higher in opening trade.  
Sentiment was boosted after President Pranab Mukherjee said in his speech addressing a joint sitting of Parliament that reforms will be undertaken to enhance the ease of doing business.
The market edged higher in early trade. A bout of volatility was witnessed as key benchmark indices pared gains once again after regaining strength in morning trade.
Bajaj Auto (up 5.82%), Coal India (up 4.95%) and L&T (up 3.04%) edged higher from the Sensex pack.
Jindal Steel & Power was up 1.56% at Rs 345. The stock hit 52-week high of Rs 350 in intraday trade.
The market breadth indicating the overall health of the market was strong.

The benchmark indices opened on a post note and hit record all-time high led by gains in capital goods, oil & gas, realty and power sectors as foreign institutional investors continued to pump in dollars on hopes of a reformist budget. The indices are likely to move higher in the trade taking cues from supportive Asian markets as well. 
Shares of India's Gateway Distriparks gain 1.7 percent after ICICI Prudential Mutual fund on Friday raised its stake by 0.92 percent in the company to 3.86 percent via block deal on the National Stock Exchange.
The fund bought 1 million shares of the company at a price of 228 rupees a share, exchange data shows.

Stock Alert : IT Stocks Decline as Rupee Hits



IT stocks declined as rupee hit more than seven-month high against the dollar today, 25 March 2014.
Asian stocks were mostly lower as data showed a slowdown in US manufacturing and investors weighed the prospect of a recession in Russia.
Shares of Indian oil and gas producers slump after the country's election commission asked the government to defer a planned hike in gas prices due to start on April Reliance Industries Ltd falls 2.6 percent, while state-run Oil and Natural Gas Corp is down 2.5 percent. 
HDFC Bank Ltd is up 1.2 percent after earlier marking its record high at 760 rupees, while State Bank Of India Ltd gains 0.8 percent.

Asian stocks rose, with a regional index of shares outside Japan rebounding from the biggest loss yesterday since August.
The market has opened on a positive note. The Sensex is up 104.82 points at 21844.91, and the Nifty is up 31.05 points at 6514.15. About 481 shares have advanced, 100 shares declined, and 16 shares are unchanged.
Shares in Axis Bank Ltd fell as much as 2.6 percent after the Indian government launched an offer to sell up to a 9 percent stake in India's third-largest private-sector bank by assets to raise up to $935 million.
Capital goods pivotals gained. Index heavyweight Reliance Industries (RIL) rose after the company in video recorded Hindi transcript uploaded on You Tube has denied allegations of benefits from the Gujarat government.

Watch Morning Highlights of Stock Market


Asian stocks fell on Thursday after the Federal Reserve signaled a faster timetable for raising rates,where Japan's Nikkei .N225 slipped 0.7 percent while the Australian market lost 0.8 percent.
The S&P BSE Sensex was down 40.10 points or 0.18% to 21,792.76. The index declined 86.44 points at the day's low of 21,746.42 in early trade. The index fell 20.40 points at the day's high of 21,812.46 in early trade.
The CNX Nifty was down 14.50 points or 0.22% to 6,509.55. The index hit a low of 6,497.90 in intraday trade. The index hit a high of 6,516.70 in intraday trade.
The BSE Mid-Cap index rose 8.78 points or 0.13% to 6,748.36. The BSE Small-Cap index gained 16.50 points or 0.25% to 6,736.85. Both these indices outperformed the Sensex.
Capital goods pivotals declined. L&T (down 0.53%) and Bharat Heavy Electricals (Bhel) (down 1.26%) declined.

Stock Market News: TCS Shares Slopes Down Today



Shares in India's Tata Consultancy Services Ltd fell as much as 4 percent on Wednesday after analysts said the company has indicated revenue growth for the quarter ending in March could be weaker than the previous quarter.
The S&P BSE Sensex was up 8.47 points or 0.04% to 21,841.08. The index gained 60.81 points at the day's high of 21,893.42 in early trade. The index fell 13.52 points at the day's low of 21,819.09 in early trade.
The CNX Nifty was up 3.80 points or 0.06% to 6,520.45. The index hit a high of 6,534.75 in intraday trade. The index hit a low of 6,510.80 in intraday trade.
The market breadth, indicating the overall health of the market, was strong. On BSE, 575 shares rose and 242 shares fell. A total of 38 shares were unchanged.
GAIL (India) (up 1.39%), HDFC (up 1.05%) and AXIS Bank (up 0.93%) edged higher from the Sensex pack.

Shares of Maruti Suzuki India(MRTI.NS) surged on Tuesday on plans to seek minority shareholder approval to set up a plant in Gujarat as a unit of Suzuki Motor Corp (7269.T), after the proposed move drew opposition from the company's leading institutional investors.

Asian shares dropped to a one-month low and the yen pushed higher on Friday, as heightened tension in Ukraine ahead of a weekend referendum drove investors out of riskier assets. Key benchmark indices in China, Indonesia, South Korea, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Japan and Singapore were off 0.46% to 3.02%.

Stock News Today: India's Infosys Shares Slumps Down

Shares of Infosys are under tremendous selling pressure, dragging it 9 percent in early trade on Thursday. Investors are worried about the software company as executive chairman Narayana Murthy on Wednesday said he is not at all happy at the way Infosys has performed.
                     
Infosys, India's second largest software services exporter, in January raised revenue growth guidance for the 2013/14 financial year to between 11.5 and 12 percent from a previously forecast 9-10 percent, citing higher demand for its services.

Infosys shares were down 7.4 percent at 0351 GMT.

The Nifty fell on Tuesday, retreating from a record high hit earlier in the session, as recent outperformers such as Reliance Industries fell on profit-booking ahead of key inflation data.
India's record-setting rally, with the Nifty hitting its third all-time high in as many sessions, faces a key test on Wednesday when India is due to release consumer inflation and industrial output data, the last set of reports before the Reserve Bank of India's policy review on April 1.

•India's BSE index managed slight gains on Monday after earlier posting its third consecutive record high as shares of domestic-focused companies.
