Stock Market News & Tips Live — Nifty reclaims 8700, Sensex firm;



The market extended upmove in opening trade today with the Nifty reclaiming 8700 level led by FMCG, IT and banks stocks. The Sensex rallied 122.87 points to 28639.46 and the Nifty climbed 38.65 points to 8698.95.
About 429 shares have advanced, 73 shares declined, and 92 shares are unchanged on the BSE.   Shares of Coal India, Tata Motors, Infosys, Tata Power, NTPC, HDFC Bank, ICICI Bank and Sun Pharma topped the buying list on Sensex. However, Bharti Airtel declined.
The cabinet has cleared the decks to create a regulator for realty sector. The watchdog will address consumer grievances within 60 days. Penal provisions will be initiated against realtors who violate the rules.
 Reserve Bank of India Governor Raghuram Rajan kept key policy rates unchanged yesterday and asked bankers to pass on previous rate cuts. Banks obliged with the ICICI Bank cutting rates by 25 basis points. SBI and HDFC Bank also eased rates by 15 basis points each.
Glenmark Pharma gained 3.5 percent on approval from CCEA to hike FII limit in company. 
The Indian rupee opened lower by 7 paise at 62.32 per dollar today against previous day's closing value of 62.25.

Stock Market Closing News –Sensex slips, banks drag



The market extended its southward journey for the fifth consecutive session today. The Sensex lost 30.30 points to 28161.72 and the Nifty fell 7.95 points to 8542.95.
 Essar Power will commence mining at its Jharkhand coal block in next few months to help the company restart its Mahaan power plant, lying idle due to lack of fuel since last 18 months.
About 1111 shares have advanced, 1701 shares declined, and 182 shares are unchanged on the BSE. Banks pulled the market down again. HDFC Bank, ICICI Bank and State Bank of India shed around a percent each. Tata Motors plunged 3.4 percent.

Sensex slips below 29000| ahead of Rail Budget 2015| Nifty tests 8750



Sensex, Nifty flat; rail stocks dip ahead of Prabhu's speech
The market has opened flat on February F&O expiry and Railway Budget day. The Sensex is up 27.01 points or at 29035.00 and the Nifty is up 11.75 points at 8779.00. About 371 shares have advanced, 126 shares declined, and 111 shares are unchanged.
Sesa Sterlite, NTPC, ICICI Bank, ONGC and GAIL are top gainers while Infosys, BHEL, Tata Power, Coal India and Dr Reddy's Labs are among the losers in the Sensex.
All rail stocks are under pressure as Suresh Prabhu prepares to read out Railway Budget at 12 pm today.
The Indian rupee opened marginally higher at 61.93 per dollar on Thursday against previous day's closing value of 61.97 a dollar.
