Stock Market Evening News –Sensex slumps 499 pts, Nifty ends at 8809



It was a difficult day for traders as bears rampaged the street with blood. Snapping 10-day of winning streak, the Nifty retreated from a kissing distance of 9000. The 50-share index ended first day of February F&O series at 8808.90, down 143.45 points or 1.6 percent.
The Sensex slumped 498.82 points or 1.7 percent at 29182.95. About 1258 shares have advanced, 1609 shares declined, and 246 shares were unchanged.
 Banks played spoilsport as Bank Nifty lost over 3 percent, dragged by ICICI Bank, SBI, HDFC twins and Axis Bank. Other losers in the Sensex were Dr Reddy's Labs and Coal India.

Live Stock Market News Highlights



The session saw very high volatility in trades as at one point the Sensex and Nifty touched other all-time high levels. The 50-share Nifty for the first time touched 8,985 and the Sensex kissed 29,786.32.
 The broader markets also ended on a weak note. BSE mid-cap index closed weaker by 0.3 per cent and the small-cap index managed to close with marginal gains.

Live Morning Stock Market News &Trading Tips



The S&P BSE Sensex mirrored global market and opened on a weak note led by losses in metals, auto and banks. According to dealers, the market is likely to consolidate after 8-day upmove and ahead of the January F&O series expiry. 
The Sensex declined 5.32 points to 29565.72 and the Nifty slipped 7.75 points to 8902.75 despite weak global cues.
"Indices could appear tired at least at start. After closing above the 8,900 mark, the Nifty could take a break. With ECB and Greece behind us, the focus now will be on what the Federal Reserve has to say today," said IIFL report
Tata Motors and Tata Steel falls over a percent while Maruti gained more than 1.5 percent.
The Indian rupee fell marginally in early trade today. The currency has opened at 61.50 a dollar, down 11 paise compared to previous day's closing value of 61.39 a dollar.

Stock Market Opening News & Tips



The market gained more than a percent in early trade on Friday following stimulus package announced by European Central Bank yesterday evening. The 50-share NSE Nifty surpassed 8800 level for the first time, up 93.30 points to 8854.70 and the 30-share BSE Sensex rallied 364.49 points to 29370.51. However, the broader markets underperformed benchmarks as the BSE Midcap and Smallcap indices gained 0.5 percent each. Nearly three shares advanced for every share declining on the Bombay Stock Exchange.

Stock Market Closing Bell News by Money CapitalHeight



The market ended at record closing high ahead of European Central Bank meeting outcome later in the day. The 30-share BSE Sensex closed above 29000, up 117.16 points at 29006.02 and the 50-share NSE Nifty rose 31.90 points to 8761.40. About 1347 shares advanced while 1580 shares declined on the Bombay Stock Exchange. Axis Bank topped the buying list on Sensex, up 3.54 percent. Sun Pharma and DLF rallied 3.4 percent each. Tata Motors surged 2.65 percent after launching Bolt. ONGC and Cipla gained 1.5-2 percent.
